Temperature transmitters are used in processes where the sensor is located at a long distance from the control device. Or to convert a sensor type to a standard analogue input signal which can be easily read by the control system. For example, many PLCs have 4-20mA inputs as standard but do not offer direct inputs for thermocouples.

By converting the sensor input to an analogue signal such as 4-20mA greater transmission distances are possible.

With Novus transmitters a USB connector is provided on the device for initial configuration and scaling of the signal. TxConfig II is the latest free software used for carrying out initial setting of the device. This is a simple one page configuration which can be done in seconds.
