Industrial Multichannel Dataloggers

Novus FieldLogger is a powerful DIN rail mounted industrial datalogger. You have complete control and ownership of the data. Free software and no subscriptions required. Each device comes with: 8 x Universal Analogue Inputs, 8 x Multipurpose Digital Channels, 2 x Alarm Relays.

There are two models to choose from:

1. Master/Slave - can function as Modbus Master and comes with both RS485 and Ethernet ports. This version is recommended where Modbus registers need to be recorded i.e. metering equipment with RS485. Or where ethernet connectivity is important. For example, the datalogger is permanently connected to a computer for regular download and analysis. As a Modbus Master it can read and log up to 64 Channels (registers) on a serial network.

2. Slave Logger - can gather data from it’s own hardwired inputs and provide serial network access to live data and logs as a Modbus Slave. The Slave logger is recommended where limited external networking is required. Some applications require basic access for security reasons. In this instance the Slave logger can be locked inside a cabinet for use by authorised persons only, data retrieval by USB. The Slave logger can not read from RS485 networks, it accepts direct connections to the built in hardwired IO.

How To Choose The Correct Model

First decide if you need the Master or Slave. We generally recommend the Master as the best option for future proofing unless you have a very specific requirement for a standalone data logger. Both variants can be purchased with either 100-230V or 24V power supply. An optional HMI can be added to display 6 live channels as favourites and provide visibility of alarms and parameters. The FieldLogger can also be ordered complete, with the HMI attached.
