Frequently Asked Questions
Does this meet machinery safety requirements on its own?
The CP200E gives you one normally-closed contact, suitable as part of a Category 1 stop function with a single-channel safety relay. For Category 3/4 (dual-channel) architectures, add an EMAS C2 contact block for the second channel.
Can I add more contacts later?
Yes — EMAS C1 (N.O.) and C2 (N.C.) contact blocks clip on without tools, so you can expand from 1 contact up to a multi-contact stack as your circuit design changes.
Is this switch suitable for washdown or outdoor panels?
IP65-rated, so it resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets. Fine for washdown areas; for continuous outdoor exposure also check ambient temp stays within -15°C to +80°C.
Turn-to-release vs pull-to-release — which do I need?
Turn-to-release (this model) requires a deliberate twist to reset, reducing accidental resets. If your safety case requires a keyed reset instead, see the CP200EA30 variant.
Industry Applications
- Packaging & conveyor lines — mounted at operator stations along conveyors for immediate stop access during jams or product changeovers
- Food & beverage processing — IP65 rating suits washdown zones near mixers, fillers, and packaging equipment
- Machine tool & fabrication — panel-mounted stop for CNC, presses, and other operator-adjacent machinery requiring a basic latching safety circuit
