Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a heatsink with this?
Yes, for anything beyond light, intermittent loads — at 25A, heat dissipation matters more than on the 12A version. EMAS's SSS1X/SSS2X heatsinks (or the pre-assembled SSR+heatsink version of this relay) are designed to pair with it for continuous-duty use.
What control signal does it need?
4-32V DC — compatible with most PLC digital outputs directly, with a minimum input current of 5mA.
What's the difference between this and the 12A version?
Same control interface and voltage range, but this handles up to 25A load current with a larger 4mm² load terminal cable section (vs 1.5mm² on the 12A version) to handle the higher current safely.
Can I use this for phase-angle or PWM temperature control?
Yes — this is a common choice for driving heating elements from a PID temperature controller's low-voltage output signal.
Industry Applications
- Process heating — PID/PLC-driven temperature control for ovens, extruders, and heated tooling
- Plastics & packaging machinery — high-cycle switching of heater bands without mechanical contact wear
- Motor & pump control — silent, high-frequency switching for higher-current variable-duty applications
