Collection: SCADA & Data Acquisition

Low Cost SCADA & OEE Integration

Our Novus automation hardware can be used to pickup existing or new signals using open protocols such as Modbus and MQTT. They can help to build a picture of operational efficiency and compliance.

We also offer a number of gateway devices that can provide the correct hardware interface for SCADA networks and servers. They can be used with legacy serial networks on RS485.

Data Acquisition With Local Storage At Device Level

Many users are concerned with dependency on Cloud data storage. Often these worries centre around reliability and ownership of the data.

Novus dataloggers can be a great solution for acquiring production or environmental data from hardwired sensors or serial devices. One of the key benefits of our dataloggers is they can operate independently. Making installation fast and non-invasive. They can also be interrogated with free software tools from Novus.

Simple systems require no ongoing subscriptions or software licenses. For more demanding applications our dataloggers can now publish to MQTT brokers to share their data with powerful analytic tools.

Built In Cloud Functionality For Remote Storage

For those customers looking to analyse a number of remote data points we can offer hardware with MQTT functionality. These open devices can be incorporated into any MQTT broker, ensuring compatibility with the latest SCADA systems. We recommend the DigiRail IoT and OEE models for use as sensor gateways. They can publish digital and analogue signals or RS485 registers to an MQTT broker.

Novus offer their own low cost Cloud solution which is suitable for use with Novus Automation devices. It includes a free subscription which is ideal for testing and proof of concept.

Basic IO Expansion Modules

For simple expansion using RS485 or Ethernet we suggest the DigiRail Connect or basic IO Modules such as the DigiRail-2A. They can be suitable for PLC or SCADA applications where a small number of additional digital or analogue signals are required.

Developing A SCADA Or Analytical System

There are many consideration when looking to introduce a new monitoring system. It is important to think about both the current and future number of data points. How the data will be collected at the hardware layer, where it will be stored and how it will be presented. We are happy to talk to you and recommend a suitable partner who can specify and develop a system within your budget.
