The DigiRail OEE WiFi is economical machinery or production line monitoring for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) — hardwired I/O to MQTT or Modbus, passing data to OEE, DCS or SCADA systems, cloud compatible, and doubling as a Modbus RTU-to-MQTT or Modbus RTU-to-Ethernet gateway. It utilises existing WiFi network infrastructure for data acquisition and logging, avoiding new cable runs.
The module contains 6 digital inputs, individually configurable to monitor state (On/Off) or act as counters, plus two analogue inputs and two digital outputs.
Initial configuration in Novus NXperience is an extremely quick process. With a small amount of interface wiring the module can begin gathering data in minutes. This can be passed via MQTT to Novus Cloud or similar services, or sent to existing PLC/SCADA systems using the Modbus TCP protocol.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between this and the Ethernet model?
Only the network connection — this WiFi version avoids running a new Ethernet cable, useful where the module needs to be sited away from existing network points. Consumption is slightly higher on WiFi.
How quickly can I get it collecting data?
Initial configuration in Novus NXperience is fast — with minimal interface wiring the module can begin gathering data within minutes.
Can I still use RS485 devices with the WiFi model?
Yes — RS485 terminals are still present, and the module can act as a Modbus RTU-to-Ethernet or Modbus RTU-to-MQTT gateway.
Industry Applications
- OEE & Machine Monitoring — tracks run state and counts for equipment effectiveness reporting.
- Retrofit Installations — WiFi connectivity avoids new cable runs to hard-to-reach machinery.
- Cloud & MQTT Data Logging — passes hardwired I/O data to Novus Cloud or similar IoT platforms.
