The DigiRail OEE Ethernet is economical machine monitoring for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) — hardwired I/O to MQTT or Modbus, passing data to OEE, DCS or SCADA systems, cloud compatible, and doubling as a Modbus TCP-to-RTU or Modbus RTU-to-MQTT gateway. It utilises existing network infrastructure for data acquisition and logging over your LAN.

The module contains 6 digital inputs, individually configurable to monitor state (On/Off) or act as counters, plus two analogue inputs and two digital outputs.

Initial configuration in Novus NXperience is an extremely quick process. With a small amount of interface wiring the module can begin gathering data in minutes. This can be passed via MQTT to Novus Cloud or similar services, or sent to existing PLC/SCADA systems using the Modbus TCP protocol.

Modbus TCP to RTU Gateway

This model can be used as a transparent gateway with no mapping of registers required. It's suitable for reading/writing registers on RTU Slaves wired to the RS485 terminals — simply communicate via Modbus TCP and the module automatically translates commands.

Gateway Mode is a simple method allowing PLCs with Ethernet to communicate with devices such as temperature controllers, instruments and meters — a great solution for networking field devices which are only equipped with RS485 terminals.
