The 12-24V supply model of the N1540 is a powerful Universal Indicator used for local indication of a process variable, offering retransmission via 4-20mA signal back to a control device such as a PLC. Large digits give clear visibility, and a basic requirement such as displaying temperature, pressure or speed can be set up quickly, with further options to set alarm limits linked to the two output relays. It reads process sensors and signals from a universal input, doubling as display, scaling and retransmission all in one, and includes an auxiliary 24VDC power supply for direct connection of 2-wire 4-20mA sensors/transducers.
It can also function as a standalone controller — for example, by using the switching outputs it's possible to set up the indicator as a level controller. All configuration is carried out using free Novus software and the onboard USB port.
N1540 universal process indicator works at a fast sampling rate, ensuring high-performance indication and response to fast-varying processes. With 5 digits for high-resolution variables and a 17mm-high display, N1540 provides a clear view, making it easier for operators to read and diagnose from a distance. Both electronic robustness and anti-flame material enclosure comply with the main world-class approvals for industry devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose the 24V version over the mains model?
For control panels already running 12-24V rails, off-grid installations, or mobile/vehicle-mounted equipment where mains power isn't available.
Can this work as a standalone controller, not just a display?
Yes — the two switching outputs can be configured with alarm limits, so the indicator can function as a standalone level or process controller as well as a display.
Can I retransmit the reading to a PLC?
Yes — the optional isolated 4-20mA analogue output retransmits the process value to a PLC or other control device.
Industry Applications
- Off-Grid & Mobile Process Instrumentation — 12-24V supply for remote or vehicle-mounted equipment.
- Signal Conversion & Interfacing — universal input accepts most industrial sensor/signal types directly.
- Level Control — switching outputs can be configured to run the indicator as a standalone level controller.
