Can I wire this directly to a temperature controller's alarm relay output?
Yes — this is a common pairing with process temperature controllers, including Novus controllers (a separate brand we also stock), wired directly to the alarm relay's mains output.
Is 90dB loud enough to hear over factory floor noise?
90dB is comparable to a passing truck or industrial machinery — generally audible over typical factory background noise from several metres away, though very loud environments may need a supplementary visual-only strobe instead.
Is this suitable for washdown or outdoor mounting?
It's IP50 rated (dust-protected, not water-jet rated), so it's best suited to indoor control panels rather than washdown or outdoor environments. EMAS's washdown-rated equivalent in this range is the MBZS220SE (IP65), which trades a little volume (85dB) for the sealed rating.
What's the difference between this and the 24V version?
This is the mains-voltage variant, suited to circuits already switching 230V AC directly. If your control circuit runs on 24V AC/DC, use the MBZS024S version instead.
