MPN: IHM-R1

Compatible with the AG Drive line of inverters, this remote HMI makes it possible to operate and change inverter functions remotely — typically used where the inverter is installed inside a control panel that doesn't allow easy access to the equipment itself.

This is the R1 model, suitable for our AG Drive Mini range (single phase input), connecting via a standard USB Mini cable (supplied). An R2 model also exists for the AG Drive Pro (three phase input, connects via Ethernet RJ45), which we don't currently stock — contact us if you need this variant.

Using an HMI/keypad with a variable speed drive brings several advantages: viewing and modifying parameters, changing speeds or start/stop control from the keypad without opening control cabinets, and duplication of the built-in drive controls for redundancy.

To fit the HMI, a panel cutout of 56mm wide by 61mm high is recommended.

Attention: never use USB and RJ45 connections simultaneously — this risks permanent damage to the product.

2 Year Manufacturer Warranty — backed by our UK-based technical support

Technical Details

Compatible drive: AG Drive Mini (single phase input)

Connection: USB Mini cable (supplied)

Panel cutout: 56mm (W) x 61mm (H)

Configuration — 3 parameters give the HMI full control of the equipment:

  • P301 = 4 — selects the frequency reference for Modbus communication
  • P302 = 3 — selects the inverter command for Modbus communication
  • P701 = iHrE — special Modbus address for the AG Interface (set this first; P301/P302 can be changed after)

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AG Drive model is this compatible with?
This R1 model is for the AG Drive Mini (single phase input) range. An R2 model exists for the three-phase AG Drive Pro, which we don't currently stock.

Do I need to change many parameters to set it up?
No — just 3 parameters (P701, P301, P302) give the HMI full control. Set P701 first, since P301/P302 can only be changed afterwards.

Can I use both USB and Ethernet connections at once for redundancy?
No — never use USB and RJ45 connections simultaneously, as this risks permanent damage to the product.

Industry Applications

  • Enclosed Control Panels — operate the drive without opening the cabinet.
  • Remote Panel Mounting — door-mounted HMI for operator access to speed and start/stop control.
  • Redundant Control — duplicates the drive's built-in controls for backup access.
