The Novus DigiRail Connect RAMIX 2AI / 2AO / 4DI / 2 Relay (8811611440) combines 2 isolated universal analogue inputs, 2 isolated analogue outputs, 4 digital inputs and 2 relay outputs in one DIN rail module. The analogue inputs read thermocouples, Pt100/Pt1000, NTC and mV, V or mA signals directly at 16-bit resolution, the analogue outputs provide 0-20mA, 4-20mA or 0-10V, and the relays give volt-free contacts for alarms, contactor coils and valves up to 250Vac.
Every DigiRail Connect model has Ethernet, RS485 and Micro USB on board. It works as a Modbus RTU slave on an existing RS485 network or as a Modbus TCP server on Ethernet, and can act as a transparent Modbus TCP to RTU gateway, so an Ethernet PLC or SCADA system can read RS485 instruments wired to its terminals with no register mapping. Configuration and I/O testing use free Novus NXperience software over USB.
Lead time: made to order by Novus, typically 1–2 weeks to dispatch.
DigiRail Connect Range
All four DigiRail Connect models share the same Ethernet/RS485 hardware and software. Choose by the I/O mix you need:
- DMIX 8DI / 8DO (8811612420) — 8 digital inputs, 8 PNP transistor outputs
- DMIX 8DI / 4 Relay (8811612440) — 8 digital inputs, 4 relay outputs
- RAMIX 2AI / 2AO / 4DI / 3DO (8811611420) — as this model but with 3 PNP transistor outputs
- RAMIX 2AI / 2AO / 4DI / 2 Relay (8811611440) — this model: 2 universal analogue inputs, 2 analogue outputs, 4 digital inputs, 2 relay outputs
Only need analogue inputs on RS485? The lower-cost Novus DigiRail-2A converts two thermocouple, Pt100, mV, V or mA signals to Modbus RTU.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can the analogue inputs read directly?
Thermocouples (J, K, T, N, E, R, S, B), Pt100, Pt1000 and NTC sensors, plus 0-60mV, 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-20mA and 4-20mA signals. Each channel is configured independently in NXperience.
Should I choose this relay model or the RAMIX 3DO?
Choose this model when you need volt-free contacts or to switch AC loads such as alarms and contactor coils. The 3DO version has PNP transistor outputs for PLC-level DC signals and pulsing.
Can it control a heater or motor?
The relays are rated for resistive loads at up to 250Vac. For heaters, motors or other large loads, use a relay to drive a contactor coil such as the EMAS HN0910NUE, with control logic in your PLC or SCADA.
Can it bridge RS485 devices onto Ethernet?
Yes. In gateway mode it passes Modbus TCP requests to RTU slaves wired to its RS485 terminals with no register mapping, so an Ethernet PLC can read existing RS485 controllers and meters.
Industry Applications
- Temperature monitoring & alarms — reads thermocouples or Pt100 sensors and trips relay alarms from SCADA set points.
- Remote analogue control — sends 0-10V or 4-20mA references to drives and valves while switching run signals.
- Building management — combines sensor inputs, analogue outputs and plant switching in one BMS module.
